Hydrate from the Inside Out
Keep drinking plenty of water after your appointment. Proper hydration supports your body's natural healing process, helping your skin recover more quickly and comfortably.
-
Soothe
If the treated area feels warm, tender, or appears red, you may gently apply a clean, cool compress or a thin layer of Aloe Vera to help soothe the skin.
Avoid placing ice directly on the skin, as this can cause further irritation.
-
Hands Off
Avoid touching, picking, or scratching the treated area. Your hands carry bacteria that can easily cause irritation or infection while the skin is healing.
If tiny scabs appear, let them form and fall away on their own—never pick or scratch at them. After 24–48 hours, you can apply a very thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor. Keeping the area moisturized supports healing and prevents scarring, but the scabs must come off on their own.
-
Take a Break
Do not wash the area with typical soap or wear makeup for 24–48 hours. Avoid alcohol-based or perfumed products, as they will dry out your skin. Instead, use witch hazel on a clean cotton pad to gently cleanse and soothe the area.
-
Skip the Sweat
Avoid heavy exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and swimming for the first 48 hours. Freshly treated follicles are highly sensitive to heat, sweat, and bacteria during this initial healing window.
-
Block the Sun
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 48 hours before and after your session. Healing skin is highly sensitive and prone to unwanted dark spots or prolonged recovery. If you must go outside, always protect the area with a high-quality sunscreen.
-
Put the Tweezers Away
Resist the urge to tweeze, wax, thread, or pull out hairs between treatments. Shaving or carefully trimming is the recommended method between appointments. Plucking removes the root, which disrupts your progress and resets the natural hair growth cycle.
-
Trust the Process
Consistency matters more than speed. Hairs that appear between sittings are completely normal and not a setback. Because hair grows in cycles, not every hair is visible or ready to be treated at the same time. As new hairs enter a treatable stage, they will become visible and can be permanently removed.
Your care continues beyond the treatment room. We are here to guide you through proper aftercare so your skin feels supported throughout the entire healing process. If you have any questions or concerns about your skin, feel free to call or text us anytime at 575-302-7283.
Consistency is what makes this permanent.
Because hair grows in cycles, keeping your regular appointments is the single most important factor that turns temporary treatment into total clearance.
